Are you getting that out of your relationship? Well, you should!
Respect is one of the most important points that very often goes unnoticed or we tend to turn a blind eye to it. That’s understandable enough. When you’re in a relationship, you tend to get so involved in pleasing your partner and keeping them happy that you’re willing to overlook a lot of things.
But respect is an important aspect of a relationship that should be taken into account. Take a moment to assess the kind of relationship you have with your partner right now.
Does he consider your feelings?
Does he value your opinion?
Are you able to communicate well as equals?

Does he make you a priority and want you to be happy?
Is he understanding towards your needs?
If you’ve answered yes to all these questions, that congratulations! Your partner does genuinely care for you and this is a relationship with respect. But if you have answered no, then you need to take a look at your relationship once again and see what the problem is.

In order for a relationship to be successful and for both partners to be happy, they must respect one another and accept each other for what they are regardless of the good, the bad and the ugly. A relationship with respect needs to be one where your partner respects you as an individual.
They shouldn’t be controlling, and even if you make a decision that is something they don’t agree with, they should respect and understand the reasons why you made the choice you did and support you nonetheless.

But one thing we ladies need to understand is we deserve to be treated with respect. A lot of women allow themselves to be bullied or treated badly by their partners, and this is sometimes due to a lack of self confidence.
Do you ever notice how strong and independent women rarely ever get treated badly? And they somehow seem to garner the respect that they deserve from their partners? That is because they are confident and they know they deserve to be treated as an equal and with respect. They demand respect and they get it.

So if you’re not getting the respect you think you deserve, talk to your partner about it? And if he doesn’t agree with you? Then maybe it’s time to walk away because you deserve better.
Are you getting respect in your relationship? Tell us about it!
